Ratatoskr Hero Review:

Ratatoskr is another interesting healer + support hero that works both on offense and on defense.

In offensive raids (& PvE), the enhanced shields deal extra damage against enemies.

In a defense team, Nuts of Yggrasil works by reducing the damage that enemy Nature hero does by tile damage.

As there is no duration (turns) stated on the special skill, the Special only affects the current board state. New Nature tiles will be normal tiles.

Ratatoskr in Offensive raids

Utilizing Nuts of Yggdrasil to it’s maximum effect is a matter of timing – does the rest of your team require the heal now, or can you wait a few more turns to collect more Nature tiles on the board?

The worst case scenario for Nuts of Yggdrasil is when you have a board that has zero Nature tiles. Even then, every offensive team requires a healer, and Ratatoskr is able to heal a significant 42% hp.

In the best case scenario, you have a whole board of Nature tiles and you are able to wipe out your enemies in a flash.

Overall, Ratatoskr can potentially provide you with a massive buff that can win you the round, without much downside/sacrifice.

Ratatoskr in Defense

Ratatoskr is extremely unreliable in defense.

The best way to use Ratatoskr is to put Rataoskr as flank, with an Ice tank to make it difficult for your opponents to take down your tank.

Even then, apart from the heal, the defensive qualities of the enhanced nature tiles are too inconsistent to be used effectively.

Ratatoskr against Titans

Ratatoskr has great potential against Titans.

It is yet to be determined if enhanced Nature tiles are able to stack with buffs on heroes. It is also yet to be determined if Enhanced tiles are able to deal damage about the damage cap of specials from Tarlak, Miki etc.

Rataoskr could also be a contender for Tile damage position as his special can be unreliable especially when you have a poor board with little Nature tiles. However, when you spot an opportunity for Ratatoskr, the additional damage can be very substansial.
