Sand Empire Family Bonus for
- All enemies receive damage over 3 turns.
- All enemies get -50% decrease for any healing received for 2 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.
- Dispels status ailments from all allies.
Roc Hero Review:
Aw man, they nerfed this guy. The original version was had a fast speed with slightly more damage over time.
Roc would have been too good as a flank to Kunchen at fast speed.
Based on the current version, it is extremely similar to Rana.
Rana’s special skill: Sand storm
– Deal 185% to the target and nearby enemies
– The target and nearby enemies receive 402 damage over 3 turns
– The target and nearby enemies get -75% increase for any healing received for 2 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled
– Dispels status ailments from the caster
The biggest difference between an average speed and the fast version (beta) is that the amount of up time that a reduced healing debuff takes effect. As there are still not many options to removing status ailments that “can’t be dispelled” chances are a fast Roc will have this debuff applied at least for 50% of the turns.
Roc in Offensive raids
In offense raids, roc and the rest of the sand empire team has the most effect when they are attacking into enemy teams with plenty of heal – e.g. telluria flanked with ariel (which you sometimes see), or in Alliance war during field aids (The amount of heal field aid provides is affected by troops and any bonuses/reduction to healing.)
However at an average mana speed, you will probably not be able to keep the debuff up when you actually need it (since it only lasts for 2 turns)
That being said, a timely activation of Roc’s special can be deadly for the defending team. Heal reduction + Damage over time to soften your enemies for you to snipe them down.
Roc in Defense
The most common purple/dark tanks are Kunchen and Ursena respectively. Both heroes rely on the strategy of “softening” opposing heroes to sniped off by the rest of your defense team.
Roc on the flank of either of these tanks would be really difficult to deal with. It would be very hard for the attacking team to be able to heal up quickly enough after kunchen or Ursena.
The fact that Roc has no initial damage and at average speed balances this synergistic effect.
This makes Roc so-so at tank/flank positions, and terrible at wings
