Raffaele Hero Review:
Firstly, lets discuss heal over time effects
- Heal over time is not affected by Character stats, unlike Damage over Time
- Heal overtime is affected by increase / decrease to healing received effects. These effects can be found in
- Other hero’s special skills (like Raffaele’s own special skill)
- Mana Troops
- Talent Grids
Legendary heroes have a range of 1300 to 1600 HP. Most instant healers only heal about 40% +/- of HP, which is equivalent to 500 to 640 HP. Increased healing from troops and emblems are not taken into consideration here.
Finally, putting everything into perspective, at only 203hp per turn, Raffaele heals rather mediocre compared to Vivica, or Telluria. Except for when you have heroes below 50% hp.
Raffaele in Offensive raids
When you cast a Heal over time effect, the first heal takes place at the end of your turn. (Immediately after you match tiles).
Expected Defensive Meta
As you can see, Raffaele will be entering into a meta dominated by Damage over time, and AOE damage heroes on defense.
His Cleanse (removal of status Ailments) effect will be particularly useful. Furthermore his heal over time effect will counter any Damage over time effects that are applied after you activate your healing spells (Unlike the other healers, of which it is always a dilemma to risk holding off the heal for another turn or not).
Raffaele could possibly be good enough for raids to give it an A grade.. Much like how Vivica is able to stand on her own in offensive raids as a strong support hero.
Both heroes are healers with cleansing effects… Vivica comes with a defense increase, while Raffaele comes with lots and lots of healing (and more durability).
To that extent, I think Raffaele can be given an A grade on offensive..

Raffaele in Defense
At Slow, Raffaele is too slow in the wings, and might be too slow in the flanks to have any significant impact in your defensive battles.
Raffaele is most significant at tank position, however as compared to the current meta tanks, Raffaele is slightly lacking.
Raffale lacks any way to slow your opponents down (like Telluria, Guinevere) giving your flanks and wings more time to activate their special skills, or make it easier to kill your opponents (Kunchen, Heimdall).
Much like Aegir and Vivica, Raffaele only creates a defensive buff around your team, that can be easily played around.

Raffaele against Titans
Raffaele does not have tile damage, nor defensive buffs that can help you to survive titans, nor any abilities that help you to deal more damage against the titan.
Heal over time is significantly weaker in titan fights because always do a significant damage to your heroes one by one. (Some times even killing them in one shot).

I pulled him and im not happy at all. Not sure what he’s supposed to be good for, unless you’re new and/or don’t have a 5* healer. One of the worst HOTMs
The same… i’m agree with you
